Our Firm

‘Shafafyia’ is an Arabic concept which incorporates commercial transparency. Unfortunately a general lack of public records in the MENA region can compromise such transparency and frustrate the effectiveness of standard risk mitigating tools. Enquiries based solely on data searches are often insufficient to meet the demands of increasing regulatory obligations, particularly in respect of Enhanced Due Diligence. Similarly, a desktop alone search cannot adequately mitigate the risk of a potential joint venture with a MENA partner. Consequently, it is often vital when conducting due diligence enquires in MENA, to obtain information from primary sources.

Acquiring reliable information within MENA, however, can be time consuming and frustrating. Knowing who to approach and how to access privileged information is essential to success.  Using insight and contacts developed over many years, we provide our clients with access to the intelligence they require to achieve their goals and help them navigate the unique commercial landscape of the MENA region.

“As the UK develops its first independent trade policy in more than
40 years, the opportunity for British firms to trade with markets like the Middle East has never been greater.”
Dr Liam Fox MP, Former International Trade Secretary.

Equally important when conducting business in MENA is a thorough understanding of the political, economic, sociocultural and technological infrastructure within the region. Relationships, for example, are an important part of Middle Eastern business culture and having the right contacts is essential.  We have over 20 years of investigative experience within MENA and the combined knowledge of our multinational staff equips us with insight that is both rare and relevant. We help identify risk and overcome obstacles.
